The computer centre

Large computers have become extremely powerful, capable of doing many complex calculations simultaneously. They are used, in particular, to analyze the large images of the sky obtained with the help of CCD array detectors, or to simulate complex natural phenomena such as the formation and evolution of planetary systems, the evolution of galaxies, and stars that are born, die or migrate to the galactic edge or centre, or to simulate the collision of galaxies, and even the evolution of the Universe.
